Grizzly Bear Conflict Prevention Workshops

Coast to Cascades, in conjunction with Grizzly Bear Solutions, is hosting two free community workshops. These workshops will focus on two main ways to reduce conflict with grizzly bears in southwest BC: electric fencing, to protect your fruit trees, gardens or livestock, and bear spray, to keep you safe in grizzly territory.

June 16 | Pemberton | Pemberton Community Centre |  Event updates

June 17 | Lillooet | Ucwalmicw Centre (10 Paul St.) | Event updates

Workshop Format (both days)

10AM - 12PM: Electric Fencing Workshop | Learn how to install & maintain electric fencing. Secure your fruit trees, chickens and more!

12 - 1PM: Community Tables & Presentations | Snacks will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles and lunches. 

1 - 3PM: Bear Safety & Bear Spray Training | Hands-on demonstrations & practice! 

 

About the presenter: Grizzly Bear Solutions

Workshop leader Gillian Sanders has 15 years experience working with grizzly bears and reducing human bear conflict. She was formerly a bear viewing guide and has been teaching grizzly bear safety since 2014.
